My 5 year old is headed to Kindergarten in the fall and we have finally decided on where she’ll end up. Not prepared for the weight of this decision, the last week has been incredibly emotional for me! Don’t get me wrong, I am not nostalgic for those baby days, nor do I think she is growing up too quickly. We are all ready for this. We went on a tour of the latest (and final) choice of elementary school toward the end of an already packed week. My exhausted three year old made me pick her up and carry her though the entire school while I watched her big sister bond with the tour guide, engage with as many of the students as she could, and bound ahead of me as far as she was allowed without even glancing back. As a line of current Kindergartners walked past us, I noticed that she is even their size. Relief spread over me throughout the tour and I signed her up immediately. We are all excited now! She keeps forgetting that we have summer break before she will actually start, so we’ve been talking about all of the fun things we can do. Last summer, I saw a whole slew of great ideas on how to make a list of the things you want to make sure get packed in to the summer. Do you make a list? We will have the girls each go to one, week long camp, but other than that, they’re just home with me, so we really need a list
. A quick & easy way to make a list you can all see is just to use an existing frame, I popped in a recent painting by one of the girls, and then write with dry erase marker. Easy peasy!
What is on your list?
