The Little Pirouette is a ballet/creative movement program that combines classical technique with music, storytelling, props, and costumes. Each week, dancers will start with a ballet warm-up that is sprinkled with creative imagery to make it fresh and fun. Then, they will learn a new ballet step or dance concept and learn choreography set to a popular nursery rhyme that incorporates their new step/concept. Next is story time! Dancers will gather around their instructor as she reads a story from a library of fairytale favorites. And for the big finish, dancers get to dress up in delicate costumes that slip right over their studio attire. Each child becomes the star of the story, bringing it to life with lively music and lovely props as their instructor leads them, dancing from “Once upon a time” to “Happily ever after”.
